Delhi Metro timings will change
Preparations are underway to celebrate Independence Day on 15th August in Delhi. In such a situation, Delhi Metro has taken special care of the convenience of the people going to the Independence Day celebrations. As per the decision taken by DMRC, on the occasion of Independence Day, metro services will be started earlier in the morning than on normal days. On August 15, Delhi Metro will be seen running at all its terminal stations from 4 am onwards. The metro will run with a frequency of 30 minutes compared to daily.
Metro train services will run at 15-minute intervals from 6 am to 6 am, the rest of the day’s schedule will remain as before. The number of people traveling in the metro on August 15 is likely to increase as compared to normal days, in which case the metro will be running on its tracks from morning to ease the inconvenience of the commuters due to congestion.
A government pass is required for Ministry of Defense programs
Those who have been invited by the Ministry of Defense to attend the program organized at Red Fort on August 15, should bring their government documents. Passengers without government documents will not be allowed entry. For this, passes with photographs have been issued at some special stations, which will facilitate identification of passengers. The expenses of the people going to the Independence Day celebrations will be borne by the Ministry of Defense through the DMRC.
Special checking at which metro stations?
Photo pass facility will be provided at Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk metro station. Without this pass one cannot exit from these metro stations. Also, this pass will be used for returning from here as well. This arrangement is provided at these metro stations because the venue of Independence Day celebrations is very close to here. Advertisements for this new system will be made in trains in advance, so that passengers can be aware about it.
