Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) interrogated Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal lodged in Tihar Jail and recorded his statement related to the excise policy case. Apart from this, the CBI has also got permission to present Arvind Kejriwal in the relevant trial court on Wednesday. He will be produced in court tomorrow. The Supreme Court will hear the bail issue tomorrow itself.
Before the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh expressed such apprehensions. He said that BJP central government is hatching a big conspiracy against Kejriwal. A conspiracy is being hatched by the CBI to arrest Kejriwal in a fake case. Central government along with CBI officials have hatched a big conspiracy. All this is being done to prevent CM Kejriwal from getting bail.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday said it does not agree with the High Court’s interim stay on the bail granted to CM Kejriwal by the lower court and will challenge it in the Supreme Court. The Delhi High Court had earlier stayed the bail granted to Kejriwal by a subordinate court in a money laundering case related to the liquor scam.
A vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain said the lower court failed to properly appreciate the facts presented by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and did not exercise its discretion while considering the AAP leader’s bail plea. He also said that the lower court should have given ample opportunity to the investigating agency to present its side.
However, reacting to the development, the Aam Aadmi Party said it would approach the Supreme Court. The party said, “We do not agree with the Delhi High Court order. We will challenge it in the Supreme Court.
Last week, on June 20, the lower court granted bail to CM Kejriwal and Rs. He was ordered to be released on a personal bond of 1 lakh. However, the ED moved the High Court the next day and termed the lower court’s order as ‘false and one-sided’, which the High Court stayed.
