Delhi liquor scam: Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody extended till July 12, Delhi High Court knocks

The Rouse Avenue Court has extended Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody till July 12 in a money laundering case related to the Delhi Liquor Policy. On Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared in Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing. On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal approached the Delhi High Court seeking bail in the CBI case related to the alleged scam in the excise case.

The Delhi High Court said it will hear on Friday Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea in the Delhi Excise Policy case being probed by the CBI.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday said it will hear on Friday Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea in a corruption case registered by the CBI in connection with the alleged excise policy scam.

Advocate Rajat Bhardwaj, appearing for Kejriwal, said the petitioner was illegally detained without following due process of law and has filed a bail application.

The CBI arrested him on June 26 from Tihar.

When the lawyer insisted that the plea be fixed for hearing on Thursday, Justice Manmohan said let the judge see the papers. We will hear it another day. Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on June 26 from Tihar Jail. He is currently in judicial custody.

His petition challenging the CBI is pending before the High Court. The court issued notice to the CBI to file its reply and listed the case for arguments on July 17.
