The incident happened on Friday. In Rangpuri, Vasant Kunj South, people informed the police that a terrible stench was emanating from a flat. Police reached the spot after receiving the information. The door of the flat was locked from inside. When the police knocked on the door, no one came out of the flat. After this the policemen broke down the door. When the policemen entered the room, they found Heera Lal’s dead body lying on the bed. The bodies of the four daughters were lying in another room. Sulphas tablets were scattered near the dead bodies. Police suspect that all the five people committed suicide by consuming sulfa tablets.

All four daughters of Heera Lal were disabled from childhood. She could not walk. Hira Lal took care of him alone. He was worried about who would take care of his four daughters after him. Neighbors say that Hira Lal was troubled, but he was also selfish and never shared his problems with anyone.

Two years ago when Heera Lal learned that his wife was suffering from cancer, he was devastated. But still he did not lose heart. He gave his wife every possible treatment, but could not save her life. His wife died last year. After this, Heera was in shock. He lived peacefully. Neighbors say he did not speak to anyone.
Neighbors said that all four daughters of Heera Lal had reached marriageable age. But Hira Lal could not marry any of his daughters due to disability and financial poverty. The elder daughter’s name was Neetu, who was 26 years old. Next was 24-year-old Nikki. 23-year-old Neeru and 20-year-old daughter Nidhi were also disabled.

DCP Rohit Meena said that the Vasant Kunj South Police has sent the bodies for post-mortem. The deceased Heera Lal is said to be 50 years old. He lived in a rented flat in Rangpuri. Neighbors reported that a foul smell was emanating from one of the flats, following which a police team reached the spot and recovered all the five bodies.

Hira Lal worked as a carpenter at the hospital. He was a resident of Bihar. Kalicharan lives with his family opposite Hiralal’s flat. According to Kalicharan, Heera did not talk much to anyone. Recently he was seen holding his daughter in his lap.
Neighbor Ratan said that the door of Hira Lal’s flat was closed for 3 days. No one came out of the house. When the stench started, the police were informed. Heera was working in Delhi for 28 years. At the same time, the police also called a forensic team to the spot. A police official said that Hira’s elder brother Joginder has been informed.
