Atishi, Minister in Delhi Govt
The Modi government presented the 11th budget of its third term on 23 July. But the battle over the budget is still going on. Delhi Finance Minister Atishi has accused the central government of discriminating against the people of Delhi and compared it to the British regime.
Delhi Finance Minister Atishi said in a press conference that the BJP-ruled government presented the budget two days ago. The Delhi government raised the issue of how injustice is being done to the people here.
Delhi Demand Data Transfer
Atishi said that the people of Delhi paid 2 lakh 7 thousand crore rupees in tax in 2024-25. The people of Delhi demanded that 5 percent of the tax should be given, but it was not given. While BJP leaders said that a lot has been achieved. He said I am presenting to you the demand data for Delhi transfer. Demand 57 has 7 heads under which people of Delhi get money. Overall Rs. 1168 crore was received, which is close to 0.4 percent.
2 lakh 12 thousand crores tax was paid in 2022/23. In 2021/22, 1 lakh 77 thousand crores of tax was paid but 960 crores of rupees were received in return. From 2013 to 2019, a total of 6 lakh 93 thousand crores of tax was paid but in return 4433 thousand crore rupees were received in the budget.
Delhiites were cheated in the budget
Atishi said that since the BJP government came to power, in these 10 years, the people of Delhi paid taxes worth Rs 15 lakh 59 thousand 933 crores from their hard earned money but in return they got a budget of Rs 7534 crores. Which is only 0.48 percent. While other states are not given the same compared to Delhi.

Now the people of Delhi must decide for themselves what the central government is doing with them. The central government of BJP is treating the people of Delhi like the British.
