All 10 teams will have to declare their retained players before the mega auction of IPL 2025. Currently, none of the teams have announced the names of the players to be retained, but meanwhile reports have surfaced that Delhi Capitals are going to retain only 3 players in their squad. According to a PTI report, Delhi Capitals will retain three players and all three players will be Indians. This means that Delhi Capitals will drop experienced players like Warner, Mitchell Marsh from the team. Now let us tell you which 3 players Delhi Capitals are going to retain.

Rishabh Pant will be retained

Delhi Capitals will retain captain Rishabh Pant first. Team owner Parth Jindal has already said this. Pant will be retained first which means this player will get Rs 18 crore. Pant has been captaining the team since 2021 and has contributed well to the team as captain and batsman. Apart from this, Pant’s brand value is also very high, so the Delhi team will retain this player first.

Akshar Patel’s second number

According to a PTI report, Delhi Capitals will retain all-rounder Akshar Patel at number two. Staying in second place means the player will be paid Rs 14 crore for a season. Akshar Patel has been batting well for the last 3 seasons. His batting average was over 45 in 2022. In 2023 and 2024 it averaged around 30. In bowling too, Akshar has taken 22 wickets in the last two seasons. Apart from this, their economy rate has also been amazing.

Kuldeep Yadav will also be retained

Delhi Capitals are also going to retain their wicket taker Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep will be retained at number three which means this player will be paid Rs 11 crore per season. Kuldeep took 16 wickets for Delhi last season. He took 21 wickets in 2022. It means clearly that the Delhi team is not going to let go of Kuldeep.

Which big players will exit?

There is more than one player in Delhi’s squad that he will drop. These players include David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Megaarch, Shay Hope, Enrique Norkhia, Khalil Ahmed, Lungi Ngidi. However, it will be interesting to see which two players Delhi Capitals hold right-to-match cards for.
