Delhi: Bike rider collides with gate of parked car, victim will get Rs 1 crore after 9 years

Care should be taken not only while driving but also while parking the vehicle. Nine years ago, a car driver in the national capital, Delhi, was negligent in parking the car and opening its gate. For this he has to suffer heavy consequences. The Delhi High Court has imposed a fine of 1 crore 8 lakh rupees on the car driver. The bike rider was seriously injured when the car collided with the gate. Now, after collecting this amount from the car driver and the insurance company, it will be given to the family members of the bike rider who got 100% disabled in the accident.

The incident took place on 30 March 2015 in Paschim Vihar, Delhi. In this incident, a car driver stopped the car on the side of the road and as soon as the gate was opened, a bike rider coming from behind hit the gate. The 58-year-old biker became 100 percent disabled in this accident. He has been bedridden ever since. At that time Delhi Police registered a case against the car driver. During the hearing of the same case, a Delhi local court imposed a fine of Rs 46 lakh on the car driver and asked him to pay the entire amount along with nine percent interest to the victim.

After this the matter reached the Delhi High Court. Then the case was investigated on the order of the High Court and now the Delhi High Court has issued an order to the car driver and the insurance company to pay a compensation of 1 crore eight lakh rupees to the victim. which includes interest amount. While representing the victim in the High Court, lawyer Upendra Singh while presenting the medical bill said that the victim has been unconscious since the day of the incident and it has been nine years since she was bedridden. He urged the court that in any case it would not be appropriate to treat the case as simple negligence. A man has become a living corpse due to this one incident.
