Delhi airport roof collapses in a major accident, 6 injured; several cars heavily damaged

A major accident took place early in the morning at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the capital Delhi. During heavy rains, a part of the roof of Terminal 1 of the airport collapsed. 6 people were injured in this accident. Many vehicles got buried under the roof of the airport due to its collapse. Police and three fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and rescue work was started immediately.

According to the information received, the accident happened at 5.30 am on Friday. Many vehicles got buried due to the collapse of the airport roof and 6 people were injured in the accident. All the injured have been rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment. After the accident, there was a huge jam outside the domestic airport terminal. There are long queues of vehicles. The police is currently investigating how the roof of the terminal collapsed.

“Around 5.30 am, we received a call about a roof collapse at Delhi airport’s Terminal-1. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. It appeared as if a fire had broken out. After this, a part of the airport roof collapsed. A large number of vehicles were parked below. Many vehicles were buried under the debris of the roof. 6 people have also been injured in the incident. We rescued them and sent them to a nearby hospital for treatment,” said a fire brigade official.
