Defamation case: Rahul Gandhi did not appear in court citing Parliament proceedings, when is the next hearing?

The hearing of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the defamation case was conducted in the MP-legislative court of Sultanpur. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi could not be present in the court. His advocate Kashi Prasad Shukla sought time from the court. After which, giving the last chance to the Congress leader, the court has scheduled the next hearing of the case on July 26.

During the hearing, Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer Kashi Prasad Shukla told the court that his client was busy with the House proceedings, so he could not be present in the court. The lawyer asked the court for more time. Which was accepted by the court. After this, the next hearing of the case will be on July 26.

Rahul has been out on bail since February 20

Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi has been on bail since February 20 in a defamation case. The court ordered him to appear in person on July 2. He had earlier appeared in court on February 20 during which he was granted bail. However, he could not attend this time due to being busy in the House.

As for the defamation case, during the 2018 assembly elections in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi made objectionable remarks at the then BJP national president Amit Shah at a press conference in Bengaluru.
