Notorious gangster Bandhu Andekar’s name has surfaced in the murder of NCP leader and former councilor Vanraj Andekar in Pune. The suspected criminal who committed the crime is said to be Ganesh Komkar, son-in-law of Bandu Andekar alias Suryakant. Seeing Vanraj Andekar present in the square opposite Dock Training in Nanapeth late on Sunday evening, these miscreants first cut the lights and then came on a bike and fired 5 rounds at the former councillor.

Even after this, the accused beat him more than a coyote and then fled the scene. Pune Police is currently investigating the matter based on the CCTV footage and other facts related to the incident. According to the police, the names of three suspects who attacked Vanraj Andekar have come up. One of them is Ganesh Komkar, son-in-law of notorious gangster Bandhu Indekar. Two other criminals Somnath Sayaji Gaikwad and Tushar Aba Kadam are also active members of Bandhuni gang.

The former councilor died during treatment

According to the police, people in the vicinity reached the spot after hearing the sound of firing, but before that the accused escaped from there taking advantage of the darkness. In such a situation, locals rushed the blood-soaked ex-councillor to a nearby hospital, where he died during treatment. According to the police, the Bandu Andekar gang has a lot of influence in Pune. The criminal is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of another gangster Pramod Malwadkar. According to locals, Vanraj Andekar was elected as a corporator in the 2017 Pune Municipal Corporation elections on a Nationalist Congress Party ticket.
