Assembly elections are going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir, for which all the parties have started campaigning vigorously. Meanwhile, the statement of National Conference Vice President and former Chief Minister of the state Omar Abdullah has come out. He says that only JKNC has sacrificed against terrorism. Talking to reporters in Shopian, he said that if anyone has fought against extremism, it is only the National Conference.

‘Present government failed to fight terrorism’

Targeting the BJP and Home Minister Amit Shah, he said, ‘He (Home Minister) should see the graph of our 6-year tenure, I want to remind him that a new act of terrorism has been started in the last 5 years. BJP, ‘not a single district is without terrorism’ He said the current government has completely failed to fight terrorism. And if the National Conference comes to power in the state, they will fight against it.

‘Terrorism increased under BJP rule’

On Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement that the NC-Congress alliance will bring back terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Abdullah further said that the graph of terrorism decreased every year during his tenure, while it has been increasing every year in the last 5 years. He said that the present regime is responsible for the new beginning of terrorism in the Jammu region. If anyone has failed to fight terrorism, it is the current government.’ Omar said that NC is the only party which has made huge sacrifices while fighting terrorism, so it is very sad when the Union Home Minister makes such statements.

‘We will keep the issue of Article 370 alive’

On the restoration of Article 370 in the state, the former chief minister said that the Supreme Court has changed its last three decisions when it was struck down, so how can you hope that the latest decision cannot be changed? We cannot say that it will be revived tomorrow or during this assembly, but we say that the issue will be kept alive the way BJP kept it alive for 20-25 years.
