Frank Duckworth died on 21 June. The Duckworth-Lewis rule was developed by Frank Duckworth and his colleague Tony Lewis. This rule is used to declare the result of matches affected by rain. Tony Lewis died in 2020 at the age of 78.
The Duckworth-Lewis rule was first used in international cricket in 1997. Later in 2001, this rule was formally used by the ICC to set targets in matches of fewer overs.
