Controversy has started in Ayodhya regarding the increase in circle rate of land. The UP government is gearing up to hike rates after seven years. People of this area have been demanding for a long time. This was a big issue in the Lok Sabha elections as well. BJP lost in Faizabad elections. Ayodhya falls only in Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency. People complained that they were not getting proper land compensation. When the government acquires land, it only gives compensation at the circle rate. Circle rate has not increased in Ayodhya since 2017. With the construction of the Ram temple, the land prices in Ayodhya have skyrocketed. A new railway station has been constructed from the airport. Apart from this, big hotels are being built. There is a fight between people from India and abroad to buy land in Ayodhya.
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has termed the proposal to increase the circle rate as a land scam of the Yogi government. On this pretext, Akhilesh has called BJP as a party of land. He has alleged that BJP leaders have bought land in Ayodhya at cheap rates. Now that the time has come to sell the land, preparations have started to increase the circle rate.
Such people can embezzle crores of rupees
Big IAS and IPS officers of UP have also bought land in Ayodhya at low cost. Names of Ayodhya’s DM, SSP and Commissioner are also included in the list, Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that by increasing the circle rate, such people can earn crores of rupees by selling their land at high prices.
Due to this resentment, the BJP has suffered a huge loss
The lack of proper land compensation became a major issue in the Lok Sabha elections. It is believed that this resentment caused the BJP to lose votes and the party lost the election. With the construction of the Ram temple, the government acquired hundreds of acres of land for the development of the surrounding area. But everyone got compensation as per 2017 circle rate. Demand for Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad
The DM of Ayodhya has proposed to increase the circle rate of land from 50 to 200 percent. The final rate list will be declared after 5 September. Awadhesh Prasad is a Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad. He has demanded that the new circle rate be implemented from 2017 itself. Those who have received compensation should also be paid as per 2017. This means that those who have already taken compensation should be given the remaining amount as per the new rate.
