What is in PK’s party constitution?

Prashant Kishor will launch a new party, Jan Suraj, on October 2, after walking on foot for two years. It will be organized in the Veterinary College located in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Full preparations have also been made for the launch of the new party. Everything from the symbols to the structure has been finalised.

According to sources connected with Jan Suraj, the constitution is ready and is being finalised. For the first time, two major arrangements have been made in the constitution of Jan Suraj. The first system is the minimum qualification to contest elections and the second system is the right to recall.

No party in the history of the country has implemented these two systems.

What is the constitution of Jan Suraj?

1. The name of the party will be Jan Suraj, which will be a national level party. This party is registered with Election Commission. In March, the party gave the apple symbol to the party. However, now there are new discussions about the symbol.

2. The party will have a national level president. After the President, the post of Secretary General of the Organization has been created. Apart from this, the party will also have the posts of vice president and secretary. The central committee will be the most powerful at the national level. The committee will have 19-21 members.

3. Central committee will take all major decisions. It is being said that Prashant Kishor can also become its member. Work is underway to ensure participation of all sections in the Central Committee.

4. The party has laid down minimum qualifications for tickets in its constitution. According to sources only 10th pass person can claim for MLA ticket. Earlier the party was going to keep the 12th criterion, but some members said that this would prevent Dalits and underprivileged people from entering politics.

5. The right to recall has been provided in the constitution of Jan Suraj. Under this, winning delegates who cannot keep their promise will have to step down. It was vigorously discussed during the Anna movement, but none of the parties implemented it.

6. The power of the organization is bifurcated at the district and block levels. One will be the main organization and the other will be the campaign committee. The campaign committee will reach out to the public with questions. The organization will look at feedback and other important tasks.

7. The constitution of Jan Suraj also mentions the organization of Morcha. At present Jan Suraj will have 3 (women, youth and farmers) frontal organizations. It may also increase in future.

Announced on October 2, strategy to reach 1 crore

Jan Suraj’s name will be officially announced on October 2 in Patna. The name of the president will also be announced in this meeting. The first President’s chair in Jan Suraj will be given to a politician from the Dalit community. It is being said that there are currently three contenders in the race for the presidency, but no agreement has been reached on a single name.

In the second year the president’s chair will be given to the most backward class and in the third year to the Muslim community. In the fourth year, the backward society will get the president’s chair. In the fifth year, an upper caste politician will become the president.

Jan Suraj has set a target of connecting 1 crore people since its inception. At present the population of Bihar is about 12 crores. According to the Election Commission, the total number of voters in Bihar is 7 crore 64 lakh 33 thousand 329. In which there are 4 crore 29 lakh male and 3 crore 64 lakh female voters.

Prashant will litmus test Jan Suraj through by-elections.

The Jan Suraj Party will enter the electoral fray first through assembly by-elections in Bihar. There are currently 4 vacant seats in Bihar, for which assembly by-elections are proposed later this year. PK also announced this recently.

The four constituencies to be held in Bihar include Ramgarh in Kaimur, Imamganj and Belaganj in Gaya and Tarari in Bhojpur.

According to sources connected with Jan Sooraj, Prashant Kishor wants to do a litmus test of politics through this. No party formed after 2000 could establish a foothold in Bihar.

In such a situation, this is being considered as a big challenge for Prashant. PK is focusing on Bihar assembly election 2025. Polling for 243 assembly seats in Bihar is proposed in October 2025.
