However, BJP will still contest elections without the face of the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, after the core committee meeting, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who won from the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat, said the party has decided not to change the leadership of the state ahead of the assembly elections in October.

In the Lok Sabha elections in the state, the BJP was lagging behind the Congress. BJP has more than 100 MLAs in the assembly. But, BJP has 9 MPs and Congress has 13 MPs in Lok Sabha. The number of Congress has reached 14 due to independent Vishal Patil. In such a situation, there is a discussion in political circles that the chances of Fadnavis becoming the Chief Minister are very less.
