A major accident has occurred in Raigad, Maharashtra. Four boys of a group of students who came here to trek the fort drowned in a dam built on the river Dhavadi. All four students died due to drowning in deep water. Police reached the spot and recovered the bodies of four students with the help of divers. After learning about the incident, there was an uproar among the families of the deceased students.
The police have sent the bodies of the four students to the district hospital for post-mortem. According to the police, all the deceased students are aged between 17 and 22 years and all are residents of Khalapur. Crowds of people gathered at the scene following the accident. There was an uproar among fellow students. All the students were seen trying unsuccessfully to save each other.
Students came to visit the fort
Police said that a group of 37 students studying at Rizvi College in Bandra, Mumbai went for trekking to Raigad Fort. Due to the heat, the students went there to bathe in the dam built on the river Dhavadi. Meanwhile, some students started drowning after going into deep water. They had no idea about the water and depth of the dam. Four boys of the group drowned in the water and seeing their friends drowning, other students called the Khalapur police for help.

After much effort, the bodies of four drowned students were recovered with the help of divers. The incident was informed to the families of the deceased students, the homes were in mourning after hearing the sad news.
