Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai presented the state’s development plan in the ninth meeting of NITI Aayog’s Governing Council. Chief Minister Sai briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the priorities and efforts being made for the development of the state, with emphasis on education, human resource development, health and technological advancement. He shared the proposed plans for the development of Chhattisgarh, which spelled out the state’s role in realizing the goal of Developed India 2047.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that Chhattisgarh will play a major role in developed India by 2047. Presently the state’s GSDP is Rs. 5.05 lakh crore, which will increase over the next five years to Rs. 10 lakh crore is the target. For this, work has been started on reforms and targets in various sectors.

Focus on skilled human resources

In the meeting, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai emphasized the role of youth in the development of the state and said that the main focus of Chhattisgarh is to prepare skilled human resources. In Chhattisgarh, education is being linked with vocational skills and training. It aims to provide students with skills that will prepare them for employment. The process of creating ‘One Nation, One Student ID Card’ (APAAR ID) for every student of the state is being initiated. In this, all the important information related to the student’s educational experience will be present in digital form.

Local products will be encouraged

He shared plans for better availability of health services, sustainable development and preservation of culture and tradition of the state. For economic empowerment, Chhattisgarh Super Foods will be produced and natural dispensaries will be constructed. Processing and branding of local products will be encouraged. Along with the expansion of artificial intelligence and IT sector, emphasis will also be placed on the development of physical infrastructure like roads, buildings and digital facilities like internet, mobile networks.

Demand for cooperation for electricity in remote areas

Chief Minister Sai appealed for cooperation from the Center for better power supply in rural and hinterland areas. He said that the process of installing rooftop solar power has been simplified and plans have been made to make 100 villages completely renewable energy dependent. A survey for installation of rooftop solar plants in government buildings has been completed, and these plants have been installed in most of the government buildings in New Raipur, from which electricity is supplied to the grid.

Drinking water was supplied to 96 percent of the households

Chief Minister Sai said that by March 2026 drinking water will be supplied to 96 percent of the households in Chhattisgarh. He said that India should aim not only for 2047, but also for a water-secure India by 2047. For this he hoped for technical and financial support from the central government. Apart from this, the National Ground Water Training and Research Institute at Raipur was also sought to be strengthened as well as the establishment of a Rainwater Conservation Research Centre. He said that with its establishment, rainwater in Chhattisgarh would be properly harvested and utilized. This will reduce water crisis and help farmers more.

He said that mobile medical units have been deployed to improve health services in tribal areas. Now health facilities are reaching even the remotest areas of Chhattisgarh. Health services are being extended through these mobile units, which provide facilities to people in remote areas.

He thanked the state for its priority

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support and cooperation towards the priorities and needs of Chhattisgarh. He hoped that with the help of the Central Government, the state of Chhattisgarh would achieve its development goals and play an important role in realizing the vision of a developed India 2047.

All Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of various states, Lt. Governors of Union Territories, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, Governing Council members and Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain were present on this occasion.
