Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has intensified the campaign against cow slaughter and illegal transportation in the state. The police is taking immediate action on the instructions of the Chief Minister. Police have activated their intelligence system in every district on the instructions of the police headquarters. Fast action is being taken by marking transport routes as part of monitoring. Its results are also visible. Police have registered more than 500 cases of illegal cattle trafficking in the last 6 months. More than 1 thousand accused have been arrested.
Police have arrested all the accused involved in cow slaughter in different police station areas of Sioni district. The conspiracy to slaughter cattle in Siwini district was hatched in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The accused were lured with money to slaughter the cows. Local people are also known to be involved in this. After the incident, the police formed different teams to nab the culprits.
MP Police is taking strict action
Soon after assuming office, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, during a meeting at the police headquarters in December 2023, instructed the police to take strict action against illegal movement of cattle. After this, the police have registered a total of 575 cases so far. 1121 criminals have been arrested and 7524 cows have been rescued in these cases. 342 illegally transported vehicles have also been seized.
Bulldozers at the house of those accused of illegal cattle trafficking
Strict action is being taken against those involved in illegal transportation of cattle and slaughter. The administration is running bulldozers on the houses of the accused. The houses of the four accused who threw cow remains at the temple in Ratlam’s Jawra have been demolished. Similarly, bulldozers have been used on four houses of the three murder accused in Sivani district. In Murena’s Noorbad, two houses of the accused were razed to the ground.
Special police vigilance in border districts
An action plan has been prepared by the police headquarters after a thorough analysis of the trends and routes of illegal transportation of cattle in the last 10 years. The police have found that illegal cattle trafficking is taking place in the southern and western border districts of the state like Balaghat, Sivni, Chhindwara, Barwani, Khargaon, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Ratlam, Neemuch etc. Police are raiding here.

Special campaign against illegal movement of cattle
On June 11, 2024, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to take special measures against illegal transportation of cattle during video conferencing. During this campaign, 70 cases of illegal transportation of cattle were reported across the state. In which action was taken against 124 accused, 38 vehicles were seized and 528 cattle were released.
Know the Madhya Pradesh Slaughter Prohibition Act
Illegal transportation of beef and cattle is prohibited in the state under the Madhya Pradesh Cattle Slaughter Prohibition Act. The Act defines beef and cattle and prohibits their slaughter and illegal transportation. Slaughter of cows is also banned under the Madhya Pradesh Farmers Animal Preservation Act. The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act also prohibits killing, over-riding, burdening or inflicting any kind of pain or torture on any animal.
