Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CM Dhami congratulated him for taking charge as the Prime Minister of the country for the third time. CM Dhami also presented a replica of Mahasu Mandir to the Prime Minister on this occasion. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dhami gave information about the issues related to the development of the state. The Chief Minister said that hydro power projects will increase the GDP of the state for the social and economic development of Uttarakhand.

He said that to meet the electrical energy requirements of the state, Uttarakhand needs to spend about Rs. 1000 crores of energy has to be procured from the open market, which puts an additional burden on the financial resources of the state. The Chief Minister has requested the Prime Minister to re-examine the final report of the Court-instructed Expert Committee-2 on the proposed 24 hydro power projects in Alaknanda, Bhagirathi with the Ministry of Water Power and the Ministry of Power. and tributary rivers.

Difficulty in road construction and tree plantation

The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister that due to the special geographical situation of the state of Uttarakhand, the Government of India and its agencies are facing difficulty in planting trees for the smooth implementation of road construction projects in the state. Because as per the existing Forest Conservation and Promotion Rules and Guidelines 2023 only non-forest land has been earmarked for the purpose. It provides that forest land recorded in the records of the Revenue Department which is not under the control of the Forest Department, can be compensatory plantation on double forest land.

The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is 67 percent forest covered area. There is scarcity of land here for development works of the state. Uttarakhand is also a state of strategic importance. Due to shortage of land under the Forest Conservation and Augmentation Act, 2023, construction of roads and other infrastructure by several organizations of Government of India, NHAI, BRO, ITBP, Railways and Army Department in forest land in the state is being delayed. Due to scarcity of land.

Also requested to transfer land from Haridwar

The Chief Minister requested Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to transfer land from Bhel Haridwar to the state for multi-modal logistics park for investment and industrial development in the state. The Chief Minister told the Prime Minister that with the joint efforts of the Government of India and the State Government, the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster, Khurpia is being built on 1002 acres of land under 50-50 percent sharing. The cost of the land provided by the State Government is Rs. 410 crores and all NOCs have been obtained. The Chief Minister has requested the Prime Minister for approval of the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster, Khurpia.

The Chief Minister also informed the Prime Minister that out of the 48 mythological temples identified under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, infrastructural development work has been started in 16 temples. The Chief Minister also requested the Prime Minister to make the roads of this temple two lanes and provide assistance of Rs 1 thousand crores for interconnection.

Request to allow expansion of rail services

The Chief Minister requested Prime Minister Modi to approve the Dehradun-Mussoorie rail line project to expand rail services in Uttarakhand. In Uttarakhand proposed Geolikang-Vedang 05 km, Sipu-Tola 22 km. And also requested the Prime Minister for administrative and financial approval of the Milam-Lapathal 30 km tunnel projects.
