Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has made a big accusation against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During a press conference in Lucknow on Friday, Akhilesh Yadav said that if the CM cannot make his own way, what else will he make? Akhilesh Yadav was referring to the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. In fact, a link road was to be built to Gorakhpur to connect Purvanchal Expressway with Gorakhpur. It was called Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
This expressway will start from Gorakhpur Bypass NH 27 village Jetpur and end at Salarpur in Azamgarh on Purvanchal Expressway. Its length is about 91.352 km and the cost of this expressway is Rs 5876.67 crore. Out of this approximately Rs. 1700 crores is the cost and the other amount is towards compensation for land acquisition.
This expressway was supposed to be completed in the year 2021 itself, but it will not be ready till the year 2024 and that is why Akhilesh Yadav is making big allegations on CM Yogi. However, the official website of the UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority has claimed that 97 percent of the work on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway has been completed by June 10.

However, Akhilesh Yadav is raising questions on CM Yogi regarding the Gorakhpur Link Purvanchal Expressway. Earlier too Akhilesh and Priyanka Gandhi had raised questions, during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Akhilesh Yadav and Priyanka Gandhi had said that Yogi and the BJP government were building the 90 km Gorakhpur Link Expressway, which would cost Rs 6000 crore.
He also alleged a scam in this. Referring to the Lucknow-Agra Expressway built during the SP government, Akhilesh said that CM Yogi is building a road for his house. Its price is 90 crore rupees per kilometer. After the Lok Sabha elections, Akhilesh has once again tried to corner Yogi by raising the Gorakhpur Link Expressway issue.
