The CBI has arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, an accused in a corruption case related to an alleged scam in Delhi’s excise policy. Now CM Kejriwal has approached the Delhi High Court in this matter. He has challenged the arrest and remand by the CBI. Delhi CM is currently in judicial custody.

On June 26, vacation judge Amitabh Rawat sent the chief minister to CBI custody for three days. He said that at this time the arrest cannot be called illegal. However, the judge said that while the arrest was not illegal, the CBI should not be overzealous. Later, on June 29, vacation judge Sunaina Sharma sent Kejriwal to judicial custody as the CBI did not seek his further remand at this time. Last week, the investigating agency questioned the chief minister in Tihar jail.
