Despite this, some parents ignore traffic rules and let their children drive. Now the traffic police of Noida in Uttar Pradesh has taught such parents a lesson. An FIR has been registered against him.
An official said that some children were caught driving on the roads of Noida and Greater Noida. These children were told that this is a violation of traffic rules. Action was also taken against their parents. 19 FIRs have been registered against parents in the last 3 days.
The police have registered an FIR against the parents
According to officials, it is against the Motor Vehicles Act to drive on the road on behalf of children. A continuous vehicle checking campaign has been going on for the last three days by the police. Meanwhile, children were seen driving the vehicle. Children along with their parents were also made aware about traffic rules. Nine FIRs were registered on Friday. Five FIRs were registered on Thursday. A similar FIR was filed on Wednesday as well.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav, 19 such cases have been reported in three days. An alert was also issued by the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate on July 9. Parents were warned not to allow children under the age of 18 to drive.
Disregarding traffic rules will prove costly
An official said that if a person violates traffic rules, he can be fined up to Rs 25,000. Possible legal action will be taken against the parents of minor drivers. Apart from this, vehicle registration can also be canceled for 12 months. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, a person can be fined for driving under the influence of alcohol. Apart from this, 6 months imprisonment can also be imposed.
