Chief Minister Mamata hailed the strict anti-rape bill as historic, with the BJP also supporting it

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee convened a special session in the Legislative Assembly and introduced the Anti-Rape Bill (Aparajita Women and Children Bill 2024). After which the discussion on this bill started in the assembly. CM Mamata has termed this bill as historic. The CM also said, we want the CBI to give justice.

Opposition party BJP has supported this bill of Mamata government. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Suvendu Adhikari said that the BJP fully supports the Aparajita Bill. We want immediate implementation of this law, it is your (state government) responsibility. We want results, it is the government’s responsibility. We don’t want any division, we fully support you, we will listen comfortably to the Chief Minister’s statement, he can say whatever he wants but you have to guarantee that this bill will come into effect immediately.
