On the orders of the Kolkata High Court, the investigation of the RG car rape case has been handed over to the CBI. This time West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has set a time limit for the CBI investigation. He claimed that the CBI should give full disclosure of the investigation by Sunday. On Wednesday evening, on the eve of Independence Day, Mamata attended an event at Hazra Mode. There he said, “The CBI will have to arrange the execution by next Sunday and give full disclosure of the investigation. Our Kolkata police have done 90 percent of the investigation.

On Monday, the Chief Minister reached the family of the deceased woman doctor RG Kar. Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal was also present. At that time, the Chief Minister had said that he was giving Kolkata Police time till Sunday. If there is no progress in the investigation, the case will be handed over to the CBI.

After this message of the Chief Minister, the number of members of the SIT formed to investigate the RG tax case has been increased from seven to 12. Not only this, a team of 150 more policemen was formed to assist the SIT.

But within 24 hours, the investigation into the RG car rape case was out of the hands of the police. The police did not get time until Sunday. Earlier, on the order of the High Court, the CBI was entrusted with the responsibility of the investigation. On Tuesday, a High Court bench headed by Chief Justice TS Shivajanam expressed its displeasure over the role of the police and handed over the probe into the case to the CBI. Within hours of the High Court’s order, Central Investigation Agency officials reached Tala Police Station. The case documents were handed over at night.

Mamata will now hit the streets against the rape case

A special CBI team reached Kolkata from Delhi on Wednesday morning. The investigation process started in the morning by dividing into several teams. CBI investigators also appealed. Amidst all this, the Chief Minister has set a deadline for the CBI this time. The same time limit he gave to the Kolkata Police, he also gave to the Central Investigation Agency. He claimed that the Kolkata Police has completed 90 percent of the investigation.

It is worth mentioning that last Friday morning, the body of a female doctor was found in the seminar room on the fourth floor of the emergency department of RG Kar Hospital. She was allegedly raped and murdered. The police arrested the accused youth in this incident on Saturday morning.
