Tunnels are being built in the Arabian Sea

The work of running a bullet train between the Arabian sea is going on in the country. For this, preparations have been made to build a tunnel in the Arabian Sea. This tunnel will be built in Mumbai to run bullet trains. Excavation in the Arabian sea for making tunnels is very difficult, to overcome this difficulty, boring machines have been developed.

This tunnel built in the Arabian Sea is being prepared for the bullet train corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. This tunnel for the bullet train is being built at a depth of 7 km in the sea. This corridor for bullet trains will be 21 km long. Maharashtra is being built from Bandra-Kurla Complex to Shilphata.

Metro trains are different from tunnels

This tunnel is different from the metro train tunnel as it is being built under the sea. A TBM with a 5 m diameter cutter has been used in the tunnel being built for the metro train, while a 131 m diameter TBM will be used to dig the tunnel under the sea. A 16 km long tunnel will be excavated, in which 3 TBMs will be used. The rest of the excavation will be done using the New Austrian tunneling method. These are all its features.

The bullet train will run at a speed of 320 km

After the construction of the tunnel, this train will run at a speed of 320 km per hour in the Arabian Sea. The biggest challenge in the tunnel being built for the bullet train is that this tunnel will be a tunnel built on a tube, while two tracks will have to be built for the bullet train to come and go.

The tunnel length in this project is 21 km long, while the total length of the project is 508 km long. The project is planned to spend Rs 1.08 lakh crore, while 1389 hectares of land will be used for it.
