Andhra Pradesh’s purse is full in the budget
Budget 2024: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a big announcement while presenting the Union Budget in Parliament on July 23, 2024. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Rs 15,000 crore along with additional funds will be provided for development in Andhra Pradesh in the coming years. It is making all efforts to fulfil its commitments under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Understanding the need of the State, the government will facilitate special financial assistance through various multilateral development agencies.
Money will be spent on these things.
The Finance Minister said in his budget speech that the government’s priority is to complete the Polavaram Irrigation Project at the earliest. Since this is the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh and its farmers, the funds released for the state in the Union Budget for the financial year 2024-25 will be utilised for it. This will help in food security of the country.
Industrial development will be promoted
According to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, funds will be provided for necessary infrastructure to promote industrial development. He said that basic needs like water, electricity, railways and roads will be taken care of in the Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor and the Hyderabad-Bangalore industrial corridor. In addition to this, additional funds will also be provided for capital investments for economic development.
