‘The Buckingham Murders’ Box Office Collection
After ‘Jaane Jaan’ on Netflix and ‘Crew’ last year, Kareena Kapoor returned with her crime thriller earlier this year. Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘The Buckingham Murders’ hits theaters on September 13, in which she plays a British-Indian spy. The opening day earnings of the film were nothing special. However, viewers and critics have praised the film. The film earned Rs 1.15 crore on its first day of release. The film was critically acclaimed upon its release, but was a disappointment in terms of earnings. However, the earnings of the second day increased slightly, but if seen in the context of the weekend, it is very less.
‘The Buckingham Murders’ is the only Bollywood film to release this week, taking on the re-releases of ‘Tumbaad’ and ‘Veer-Zaara’. ‘The Buckingham Murders’ and ‘Tumbad’ released on the same day. Despite the re-release, ‘Tumbad’ has surpassed ‘The Buckingham Murders’ in terms of earnings. ‘Tumbaad’ collected Rs 1.65 crore on the first day, which is Rs 50 lakh more than ‘The Buckingham Murders’. If we look at the second day’s earnings, according to Sacknilk’s report, ‘The Buckingham Murders’ has collected Rs 1.90 crore, while ‘Tumbad’ is said to be between Rs 2.50-2.75 crore.
Withdrawn after ‘Tumbad’ was re-released
After its re-release, while ‘Tumbaad’ has collected over Rs 4 crore in just two days, Kareena’s ‘The Buckingham Murders’ has only crossed the Rs 3 crore mark despite being a new film. ‘The Buckingham Murders’ has been released in two versions. First in Hindi and second in Hinglish. In the Hinglish version, 80 percent of the dialogues are in English and 20 percent in Hindi. Despite being the only Bollywood release in cinemas, the film has underperformed at the box office.

‘The Buckingham Murders’ is a murder mystery film, in which Kareena plays the role of ‘Jasmeet Bhamra’, a detective who is busy searching for a child. This story revolves around him. A new avatar of Kareena is seen in the film. Chef Ranveer Brar, Rakku Nahar and Kapil Redkar have also appeared in ‘The Buckingham Murders’. The film is directed by Hansal Mehta. If we compare Kareena’s film with her comedy film ‘Crew’ which released earlier this year, ‘Crew’ earned Rs 9.5 crore on its first day. Along with Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon were also in lead roles in ‘Crew’. The film was co-produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures. The film collected Rs 151.35 crore worldwide. However, it will be interesting to see if there is any jump in the earnings of ‘The Buckingham Murders’.
