BSF has so far shot down 126 Pakistani drones in Punjab this year.
Pakistan is plotting against India. On one hand, it sends terrorists across the border and on the other hand, it sends drugs, arms, ammunition and counterfeit currency to the border areas through drones. But the BSF personnel deployed along the border are constantly foiling the nefarious conspiracies. The BSF has shot down 126 drones on the Punjab-Pakistan border between January and July 9 this year. While in 2023 the number of these drones/UAVs was 107.
BSF has given this official information by posting on X on Wednesday. Calling this an exceptional performance, BSF wrote that BSF Punjab is dedicated and efficient in the security of the country.
Understand Pakistan’s drone conspiracy
Pakistan sends drugs, arms, ammunition and fake currency to border areas of Punjab through drones. Through it he wants to increase drug trade and terrorism in India. Apart from this, Pakistan also tries to spy on the border through drones. Pakistani drones enter the Indian border and drop weapons and drugs, and smugglers present in these areas work to dispose of these goods.
The BSF has said in its post that this year, along with 126 drones, 150 kg of heroin and 18 weapons have also been recovered. Apart from this, BSF has killed one Pakistani infiltrator and arrested 21 Pakistani nationals who were trying to cross the international border.
In which areas does Pakistan send drones?
As for Punjab, Pakistani drones are frequently seen in districts bordering the international border. Which includes Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Amritsar and Pathankot. Pakistani drones bring consignments of drugs to these areas. At the same time, Pakistani drones are trying to infiltrate several areas of Jammu and Kashmir, including Poonch, Rajouri and Samba.
What is India’s preparation against Pakistani drones?
The BSF is now busy tracing the routes that Pakistan uses to send drones across the Indian border. For this, the seized drone is being examined at a special lab in Delhi and its entire route from take-off from Pakistan to landing after crossing the Indian border is being scrutinized. Along with tracing their routes, various types of anti-drone technology are also being tested along the border, so that drones like those sent by Pakistan can be shot down as soon as they try to enter the Indian border.
