Punjab News: Despite continuous efforts of BSF and police in Punjab, drug smuggling is not stopping. BSF is continuously campaigning to break this nexus. In this connection, weapons and heroin have been recovered from two houses in Gurdaspur district and two accused have been arrested.
A joint team of BSF and STF raided the border village of Agwan and Rasoolpur village in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district on Saturday. Meanwhile, the soldiers nabbed two criminals with suspected heroin (weighing 540 grams), a pistol, a magazine and five live cartridges.
The seized drugs were dropped by drones
The soldiers received information from the intelligence wing of the BSF about the presence of criminals with banned substances. Based on which, BSF personnel with the help of STF raided suspicious houses in Amritsar.

Troops arrested two suspects during the raid. The recovered drugs were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape. Also, an improvised nylon loop was found attached to the packet, indicating that it was dropped from a drone.
The operation was launched by both the teams at midnight
The operation was launched in a careful and planned manner at midnight by a team of BSF and Amritsar STF. The raid ended with a significant recovery of narcotics, arms, ammunition and arrests.
This important achievement was achieved as a result of intelligence wing information and tireless efforts of BSF and STF personnel. This will help in putting the anti-national elements behind the bars. Also, this operation underlines his determination to leave no stone unturned to make Punjab a peaceful state.
