Elections are near in Maharashtra. An announcement to this effect may be made by the Election Commission at any time. Ahead of the elections, the Shinde government is making populist promises to the public. Also, various schemes are being implemented in the interest of the people, so that they can benefit in the elections. A few months back, the Shinde government has launched the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ on the lines of the Madhya Pradesh government’s ‘Ladli Behan Yojana’. Application process for this scheme is going on. Women can apply till the end of September. After this, eligible women will get Rs 1500 per month.
However, people are adopting various tactics to take advantage of this ‘Girl Sister Scheme’. Let alone women, even men are changing their gender to take advantage of this scheme. Regularly women apply by attaching their photograph, but when the Aadhaar number entered in the application is checked, only their own photograph is visible. Officials are also surprised to see this feat of people.
12 brothers applied with photo of sister
The case is from Kannada taluk of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Here 12 brothers filled the application form to take advantage of the ‘Girl Sister Scheme’ by placing their respective sister’s photographs. When their application forms were verified at the Kannada Women and Child Welfare Department, they were found to be all men. The officers of the department were surprised to see this. In this regard, Minister Shambhuraj Desai said that an investigation has been started against the brothers who filled the application. If found guilty in the investigation, action will be taken against them.
Aadhaar card uploaded in your name
The Shinde government has extended the last date to apply for the scheme to September 30 to provide benefits to eligible women under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mari Ladki Bahu Yojana’. So far 92 thousand 98 applications have been filed under this scheme in Kannada taluka of Sambhajinagar district. These applications were verified on August 30. In which 12 brothers had applied in their own name on the respective portal. Aadhaar card was also uploaded in my name, guarantee form was also filled in my name. However, photos of other women were posted on the portal.
