One and a half years ago, a young man brutally killed his sister-in-law in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun. Also his body was burnt to erase his identity. The murder was committed after the rape failed. Now the decision of the court has come in this matter. The court has convicted the youth and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Apart from this, the court has also imposed a financial penalty of 53 thousand rupees.
Judge Shiv Kumar of the Additional Sessions Judge (First) of Jalaun Court has announced this decision on Monday. The gruesome murder took place on 8 January 2023 in Kurchauli village of Nadigaon police station area, when Pooja Sharma, a resident of Kurchauli, was on her way to Gwalior to take her diabetes medication along with her two daughters.

Pooja had left for Gwalior with her two daughters to take medicine, when her brother-in-law Avinash alias Neetu, son of Murari Lal Sharma, came and asked his sister-in-law Pooja to sit in the car and sent them both there. Back home nieces. During this time, brother-in-law Avinash saw his sister-in-law in a deserted area and tried to rape her, when she protested, he attacked her with an axe, brutally killing her. Also his body was burnt to hide his identity.
Information about the incident When both their daughters were going to the field to cut vegetables after returning home, they saw their uncle doing this heinous incident with their mother, on the basis of which they informed their father Satish about it.
The husband lodged a complaint at the police station
Pooja’s husband Satish informed the police. On receiving this information, the police reached the spot and after investigating the matter took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem. In this case, Pooja’s husband Satish filed a complaint accusing her younger brother Avinash and father Murarilal of murdering his wife Pooja Sharma. On this the police registered a case of murder and destruction of evidence against Satish’s younger brother Avinash and father Murari. After this, the police arrested the accused Avinash the next day and sent him to jail.
Public prosecutor Motilal Pal, who represented the case, said that when the Nadigaon police investigated, no evidence was found against Murari, on the basis of which the police dropped his name and filed a charge sheet in court against the accused Avinash alias Neetu. After 18 months of trial in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Pratham Sivakumar, the hearing of the case was completed on Monday. In which arguments were conducted by the lawyers of both the parties and witness statements and evidence were presented.
Life sentence
Based on the statements, Justice Sivakumar, Additional Sessions Judge I, convicted Avinash alias Neetu Sharma of murder and destruction of evidence and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. A fine of 53 thousand was imposed. Failure to pay the fine will result in one more year of rigorous imprisonment.
