A retired army man has committed a public massacre in Ambala, Haryana. The accused soldier slit the throats of his mother, brother, brother’s wife and three children in a dispute over just two acres of land. The accused also fatally attacked his father, but he managed to escape with his life. It was he who informed the police about the incident. After this, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused. According to the police, after the incident, the accused also tried to burn the dead bodies, but in the meantime, the police also reached the spot and took possession of the dead bodies.
The incident took place late on Sunday night in Rataur village on the Narayangarh-Raipura border in Ambala. Bhushan, a retired soldier living in this village, currently works as an animal attendant. His younger brother Harish also lived in the same village with his family. His parents also lived with his younger brother. Omprakash, the father of the accused, said that there was a dispute between the two brothers over two acres of land for almost two years. Due to this dispute, the two brothers had several fights, but the problem was not resolved.
A late night incident on Sunday
In this sequence, at around 10 pm on Sunday night, the accused along with some of his in-laws armed with weapons entered the house of the younger son. Thereafter, whoever came before them, the accused kept slitting their throats. When his mother came to his rescue, the accused killed him too. The accused also fatally attacked him, but he managed to escape after seeing an opportunity. In this incident, the accused dragged all the dead bodies to the wood and tried to set them on fire.
Fatal attack on father too
According to the accused’s father, he called the police while running away. After this, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused. According to the police, in this incident, the accused slit the throats of his younger brother Harish, his wife Sonia, five-year-old daughter Yashika and six-month-old son Mayank along with their mother Saropi. In this incident, the accused also assaulted the younger brother’s eight-year-old daughter Pari and her father Omprakash. However, his father survived the attack.
Also tried to burn the dead bodies
After this incident, the accused also tried to set fire to the dead body by sprinkling diesel. After the incident, Pari and Omprakash were taken to the hospital, from where both were referred to Chandigarh, police said. While Pari died during the treatment, Om Prakash is still undergoing treatment. Police said that the main killer Bhushan has been arrested from the spot. Several other suspects are also being detained and questioned.
