A core committee meeting was held at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s house on Friday evening. The meeting lasted for about 40 minutes. But meanwhile there is no discussion on BJP’s poor performance in the recent general elections. BJP has formed a task force of 40 leaders to review the election results.

By-elections are likely to be held on 10 assembly seats in UP. Out of which 9 MLAs are now MPs of Lok Sabha. Kanpur Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki has been sentenced by the court. In such a situation, his membership of the assembly may be taken away. By the way, this matter is still in the High Court.

Samajwadi Party has 5 seats

Samajwadi Party holds 5 seats out of the remaining 9 seats that can be by-polled. While 3 seats were with BJP and one seat with RLD. After a poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP wants to do well in the by-elections at any cost. Hence, there was a long discussion about this in the meeting. It was said that the panel of names of candidates for the election should be decided in the next meeting.

Swami Prasad Maurya resigned as MLC

Swami Prasad Maurya also left the Samajwadi Party and resigned from the MLC. He lost the last assembly election. However, Akhilesh Yadav made him MLC. But due to differences with Akhilesh, the two separated before the Lok Sabha elections. After his resignation, a by-election is to be held on this seat of the Legislative Council.

A panel of three leaders prepared in the meeting of the core committee

A panel of three leaders has been prepared in the core committee meeting. It was unanimously decided in the meeting that Jitin Prasad, who had been a cabinet minister in the Yogi government, should get the ticket. He is a minister in Modi government.
