Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has alleged that outsiders have come to Ayodhya and bought land on a large scale and all this has been done to earn profit. Local people have not benefited from this. At the same time, this time in Lok Sabha Election 2024, BJP lost Ayodhya seat and Samajwadi Party won, after which Akhilesh Yadav is continuously focusing on Ayodhya.

Akhilesh Yadav bought and sold land on a large scale to make a profit. The BJP government not increasing the circle rate for the last 7 years is an economic conspiracy against the local people. This has led to land scams worth billions of rupees. Don’t believe here but the land mafia has bought the land.

Akhilesh further said, ‘People living in Ayodhya-Faisabad and surrounding areas have not got any benefit from all this. Taking land from the poor and farmers at a pittance is a form of land grabbing. We demand a thorough investigation and review of the manipulation and land deals in the name of so-called development in Ayodhya.

From leaders to officials are involved in buying land in Ayodhya

In fact, because of the Ram temple, a massive public-private development package has turned the land into prime real estate. Land prices are increasing rapidly in Ayodhya. Only after the decision of the Supreme Court in November 2019, the way for the construction of Ram Mandir was cleared. According to media reports, the Land Registry has been probed since the Supreme Court’s decision till March 2024. It revealed that the number of land transactions in at least 25 villages of Ayodhya and its surrounding Gonda and Basti districts has increased by up to 30 percent. These lands fall within a 15 km radius of the temple. Many of these land deals have been done by family members of politicians or people associated with them. Not only that, government officials are also involved in land deals.
