Woman dies after giving birth in Khakharia
A pregnant woman died during delivery at a private clinic in Bihar’s Khagaria. After this incident, the enraged people created an uproar. The woman’s family put her body on the city’s MG and blocked the road and created ruckus. The woman’s enraged family ransacked the clinic, scuffling and fighting between the police and the family of the deceased as they tried to stop it.
Seeing the situation getting worse, police from four police stations were called to the spot. After persuasion and assurance of action by Sadar SDPO Mukul Kumar Ranjan and the CO, the woman’s family agreed and the road jam was removed, but MG Marg remained blocked for nearly four hours. Due to traffic jam, people had to face great difficulty to go from Baluhi bus stand to city market, railway station etc. There was a long line of vehicles on the road.
Negligence in a private hospital
Based on the complaint of the deceased’s mother, a case has been registered against the doctor and health workers of the private clinic for negligence. The case is from Baluhi, where a woman, Sangeeta Devi, died during childbirth in a private hospital. She was admitted to the clinic since last Tuesday. The child is safe, but the mother is dead. The family alleged that the negligence of both the doctor and the health worker who went for the delivery led to the death of Sangeeta Devi, a resident of Begusarai district.
Hence the family protested demanding the doctor’s arrest and compensation. However, the doctor and staff of the private clinic are absconding after the incident. Police are looking for those people. For this, raids are being conducted at various places.
