In a village in Jhaja in Bihar’s Jamui, villagers garlanded the husband and wife with shoes and cut their hair and went around the village beating drums. The villagers planned to punish the woman’s lover along with both husband and wife. But, the woman’s lover ran away from there.
Accused of spreading filth in society
The villagers accused the couple of spreading filth in the society and dragged them out of the house. After that, both of them were beaten and made to wear shoe necklaces. The band was also called. After that both of them were taken out in a procession in the whole village. People also cut the hair of both their heads. People pulled the woman’s sari and took it off in front of her husband. This incident has shaken Jamui. The police administration was also disturbed after learning about the incident. The police reached the village and immediately named a dozen villagers as accused and took them away. Police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar Singh said that the police is investigating the matter and action will be taken against the culprits.
