The alertness and promptness of TTE Savind Kumar on duty in train number 11062 Pawan Express from Darbhanga to Lokmanya Tilak station in Sonpur, Bihar saved the life of an elderly passenger who suffered a heart attack by giving CPR on Monday night. After this, with the help of railway doctors, the passenger was de-boarded from the train at Chapra and admitted to a local hospital where his condition is currently stable.
A 65-year-old passenger fainted in the train
A 65-year-old passenger traveling in Pawan Express was going to Banaras in A-One coach along with his brother. During this time he was unconscious. His brother reported the incident to the railway helpline and sought help. After that, TTE was informed about the coach from Sonpur Commercial Control. Meanwhile, his brother, who was traveling with the passenger, spoke to his family doctor. He said his brother was completely unconscious but breathing. The family doctor advised to give CPR. The TTE administered CPR to the unconscious passenger between Sonpur-Chhapra railway section for about 15 minutes, after which his eyes opened.
The TTE saved the life by giving CPR
After a while the train reached Chhapra station. Railway medical teams were already there. After which he was admitted to a local hospital. Seeing the commendable work of TTE, Sonpur Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Bhushan Sood honored TTE Savind Kumar with a citation and a cash sum of Rs.5000. Divisional Railway Manager thanked TTE on this special occasion. He said that Sonpur Division is proud of TTE Samvind Kumar for this remarkable work.
