Police lathi-charged SKMCH hospital in Muzaffarpur
A fierce brawl broke out between police and medical students in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. When the students pelted stones at the police, the police also entered the hospital and lathi-charged the students. More than a dozen medical students have been injured in the incident. The incident took place late Sunday evening at SKMCH Medical College in Muzaffarpur, where on one hand the police have started a high-level investigation into the matter, on the other hand medical students have started a dharna at the SKMCH hospital by shutting down all medical facilities. On getting the information, senior officers reached the spot and started trying to pacify the students. According to information, three medical students were returning from the market on a bike late on Sunday evening. At that time, the police of Ahiyapur police station were checking the passing vehicles near the medical gate. During this time, the police stopped these students on seeing them riding a bike triple and asked for a DL to issue a challan. A scuffle broke out between the students and the police over this issue.

After this the students called their friends in the hostel. After this, other students reached the spot and created ruckus and beat up the policemen. On receiving information, additional police force reached the spot and then entered the hospital campus and lathi-charged the medical students. Half a dozen policemen and around a dozen students were seriously injured in the incident.
A case of violation of traffic rules
All the injured students have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital. According to SDPO Nagar Binita Sinha, the police arrested the students for violating traffic rules. After this the students created a ruckus. Light force has been used to maintain peace at the site. He said that medical services are being stopped and students are being explained. Apart from this, efforts are being made to identify the miscreants.
