A youth hoisted the Palestine flag during the Muharram procession in Darbhanga, Bihar. However, the procession management committee confiscated the flag from the young man as soon as he saw him. Someone made a video of the youth waving the flag, which is quickly going viral on social media. The matter has reached the police. The SSP itself has taken notice of the incident and started an investigation.
SAC Jagunath Reddy has said that action will be taken after investigation. The responsibility of the investigation has been given to Sadar DSP Amit Kumar. The SSP has said that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits after the investigation. In the viral video, a young man is seen loudly waving the Palestinian flag in the procession. The flag hoisting has been confirmed by the District Muharram Committee.
Procession during the mud bringing ceremony
After the sighting of the moon of the month of Muharram, a procession was taken out during the ritual of bringing soil to Darbhanga. Demonstration games were displayed in the procession. Meanwhile, people were walking in procession with Islamic flags. As soon as the procession reached Kilaghat in the Sarghas Nagar Police Station area, a youth entered the procession carrying a Palestine flag and started waving it. The young man was also wearing a pro-Palestine T-shirt.
Chairman of Muharram Committee seized
When Darbhanga District Muharram Committee Chairman Dr. Munna Khan saw the youth waving the Palestine flag, he snatched the flag from him and confiscated it. They threw the young man out of the procession. Meanwhile, a video of a young man waving the flag of Palestine was made and went viral. Darbhanga SSP Jagunath Reddy has said that the responsibility of investigating the case has been given to Sadar DSP Amit Kumar. After investigation, strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.
