Confiscation of alcohol cartoons
The Bihar government is making several claims regarding the liquor ban in the state. The government’s claims about liquor ban are also seen to be failing. Numerous cases of deaths due to consumption of alcohol and supply of illegal liquor have come to light in the state. Many questions have been raised after liquor cartoons were seized from a government office in Paru. A case has been registered against six people in connection with the recovery of liquor from a government office.
A team of the Narcotics and Excise Department raided a government building in Funda village of Paru area of ​​Muzaffarpur after receiving information that liquor was being sold. Liquor bottles were found in 135 cartoons during the raid. Cartoon sacks full of liquor bottles were packed and kept in a corner. The raiding team seized all 135 cartoon sacks.
The consumption and sale of illegal liquor does not stop
Bihar has had a prohibition law in force since 2016 but consumption and sale of liquor continues to be illegal. Since the implementation of the Prohibition Act, there is total ban on production, sale and consumption of liquor in the state. Even after the implementation of the Prohibition Act, illegal liquor business continues in the state and shows no sign of stopping.
135 cartoons were found in the raid
Giving information, Liquor, Narcotics and Excise Department Inspector Shivendra Adhikari said that we received information that liquor has been hidden in a government building in a village in Paru area of ​​Muzaffarnagar. During the raid, the team found 135 cartoons filled with liquor bottles from the Sarkar Bhavan premises.
Seven people arrested, case registered
He said that the place where the cartoons were seen was built to handle work related to the Panchayat department. All the work in this building is done by a woman head. He said that the woman president’s husband and six people of the village have been arrested after liquor was found in the government building. A case has been registered under the provisions of the State Prohibition Act.
