The real reason behind the stampede and death of seven people in the Siddheshwarnath temple in Bihar’s Jehanabad has come to light. The tragedy happened not because of the crowd pouring water inside the temple, but because of the attack on the devotees by the flower sellers. An eyewitness present at the scene disclosed this. According to Manoj, a local devotee who came to offer water to the temple, if the police had been present at the spot, the incident might not have become so big. Said that a large number of devotees reached the temple on Monday. People were comfortably reaching Shivlinga of Bholenath and performing Jalabhishek. Meanwhile, shopkeepers sitting outside the temple to sell flowers had an altercation with some devotees. In no time all the shopkeepers were united. In such a situation there was commotion at the main gate of the temple.

The crowd in the temple was already estimated
People started running here and there to avoid this commotion. Due to which there was a stampede and people started running over each other. According to Manoj, at least 50-60 people were injured in this accident. Manoj’s statement has largely been confirmed by the district administration. In a press note released by DM PRO, a large crowd was expected at the temple on Monday. Hence a large number of administrative officers were deployed. Police were also deployed in sufficient numbers.
The police theory backfired
According to the PRO, the accident occurred due to a fight between flower sellers in the temple. The matter is currently being investigated. Earlier, the police had claimed that the stampede inside the temple had led to a commotion among the devotees and the incident took place. The families of the deceased will get a compensation of Rs 4 lakh
Because of this, even if there is a small crowd it becomes very difficult to control it. According to the DM PRO, police and administration officials have been deployed at the spot as per the situation. He said that a compensation of Rs 4 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased on the directives of CM Nitish Kumar after the accident. It has been announced to give Rs 50,000 each to the families of the injured. Apart from this, the Chief Minister has also instructed to make good arrangements for the treatment of all the injured.
