In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, four MLAs from Bihar won the elections and became MPs. After winning the elections of these four, now all eyes are on the by-elections to be held on these four assembly seats. In such a situation, it has become interesting to see which party will field its candidates on these four seats.

Out of these four seats, three seats were won by the Grand Alliance candidate in the assembly elections, while one seat went to the NDA. While CPI ML was successful in Belagunj, RJD candidate won in Belagunj and Ramgarh. We got success in Imamganj seat. In which CPI ML’s Sudama Prasad defeated independent Sunil Pandey on Tarari seat. While RJD’s Sudhakar Singh defeated BSP’s Ambika Singh from Ramgarh seat and RJD’s Surendra Yadav defeated JDU’s Abhay Kumar Sinha from Belagunj seat.

The performance of all parties is mixed

In the Lok Sabha elections held this year, Tarri MLA Sudama Prasad Ara was elected to the Lok Sabha seat, while Belaganj MLA Surendra Yadav won from the Jehanabad seat. Ramgarh MLA Sudhakar Singh won from Buxar seat and Imamganj MLA Jitan Ram Manjhi Gaya from reserved seat. If we talk about the performance of various political parties in these assembly seats, in the elections held so far in Imamganj seat, HAM party has won twice and JDU four times.

At the same time, CPE ML has won twice in Tarri assembly seat, known as bastion of leftism, SAP has won twice and Congress party has dominated in Ramgarh seat. Congress party has won this seat four times while RJD has won twice. Belagunj is considered to be the stronghold of RJD in this seat, RJD has won four times in the elections so far while BJP has won three times.

Nitish Kumar will decide on the seats

On who will be the candidate in the by-elections to these assembly seats, senior JDU leader and cabinet minister in the state government Zaman Khan says we are fully prepared and ready. We work equally, our leader Nitish Kumar keeps directing us that all people work in his assembly. As far as assembly by-elections are concerned, the leaders will take decisions and sit and talk. Because we have a coalition, in that coalition everyone has to sit and talk, whatever order the leader gives will be followed, if someone contests the election, we will win the election together.

The top leadership of the Grand Alliance will participate

Regarding who will be the candidate for these assembly seats, RJD’s senior spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan says that only the Mahagathbandhan will contest the elections. Out of the four assembly constituencies, three assembly constituencies Ramgarh, Belaganj and Imamganj had RJD candidates in the last assembly elections. Pointing out that he had contested male elections in Tarari, the situation is likely to remain the same but the final decision will be taken by the top leadership of the Mahagathbandhan. Only the Grand Alliance will contest the election and all the parties of the Grand Alliance will be active there.

Even BJP has not opened its cards yet

BJP, its partner in power in the state, is also not opening the cards of candidates contesting on these seats. BJP state vice president Santosh Pathak says, it is a matter of collective leadership, our president has also said that the candidates will be from NDA, what will be the party and what will not be, that is another matter, but officially speaking, BJP contested in Ramgarh seat in 2020. Tarri seat was also contested by BJP and apart from that, Bela and Imamganj seats were contested by JDU, Bela and Imamganj seats were contested by Hum Party.

If we look at the old system, based on that BJP may contest in Ramgarh and Tarari and JDU and HAM party may have candidates in Imamganj district, but no clear decision has been taken yet. Senior NDA leader Nitish Kumar, state president of BJP, both the deputy CMs, other members of the core committee of the party will sit and decide on this.
