In Jehanabad, the injured were taken to the hospital during the Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.
On the fourth Monday of Savan, a stampede occurred during the Jalabhisheka of Lord Shiva in Jehanabad, Bihar. In this accident, 6 devotees died on the spot, while 9 devotees were injured. Many of these devotees are in critical condition. The incident took place in the temple of Vanvar Baba Siddheswarnath in Jehanabad. On receiving the information, the police and disaster relief team reached the spot and sent the dead bodies for post-mortem. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals for treatment.
According to the police, all these devotees gathered at the temple on the fourth Monday of Savan for the Jalabhishek of Bholenath. However, it is not yet clear how the stampede took place in the temple. Currently, the police is investigating the matter. Jehanabad SHO Diwakar Vishwakarma said that the SP and DM themselves inspected the spot after receiving information about the incident. He said that the cause of the accident is being investigated. According to preliminary information, this incident took place during Jalabhisheka. A proper investigation is being done in this matter.
