The SIT is investigating the Jitan Saha murder case.
The killing of Sahni Jitan, president of Vikassheel Insan Party and father of former Bihar minister Mukesh Sahni, has created a sensation in Bihar. Bihar Police has formed an SIT to probe the Jitan Sah murder case. The team includes SP Rural, SDPO Birul, SHO and a special team. Now the police also suspect the Kodha gang behind this murder. Because the vicious criminals of the Koda gang mostly target large houses with fewer members. Then they loot there.
The police suspect that Jitan Sahni was killed with the intention of theft. Police say the Kodha gang has committed around 250 crimes in Darbhanga district in the last five years. These include incidents of chain snatching, fraud, gold jewelery cleaning and bank robberies. This gang has been a headache for the Bihar Police since long. Not only this, these gangs are spread all over the country. After the Jitan Saha murder case, this gang has again come into discussion.
Jitan was killed late on Monday night. He was the father of Vikashil Insan Party supremo Mukesh Sahni. His ancestral home is in Supoul village of Biroul block in Darbhanga district. Jitan lived alone in this house. His wife Meena died some time ago. Son Mukesh Sahni rarely visits his village. He mostly lives in Mumbai and Patna. Mukesh Sahni’s brother and sister also live in Mumbai.
The house servant saw
After Jitan’s murder, his servant reached home on Tuesday morning. He raised the alarm when he saw Jeetan’s dead body covered in blood. After which the police was informed. All the belongings of the house were scattered. On getting the information about the murder, the top police officials reached the spot. The real reason behind the murder is yet to be revealed. But the matter is being investigated from every angle. The FSL team from Darbhanga has also reached the spot.
Biraul Deputy SP Manish Chandra Chaudhary said that preliminary investigation revealed that Jitan was killed with an intention to steal. Suspicion of this is running on the Koda gang as well. Koda gang is also on alert mode after this incident. But the police are also considering this murder as a case of personal enmity.
What is Kodha Gang?
Members of the Koda gang hail from different localities. But most of the criminals of this gang are from Jurabganj in Katihar district. Theft, robbery, chain snatching and fraud are the ancestral occupations of Jurabganj village with a population of around 3 thousand. The Koda gang is not only adept at committing every crime big and small, but also very adept at dodging the police. Here the criminal is trained by his own family. The crime style of this gang is also different. In the blink of an eye, gang members get away with major crimes. Because of their crimes, not a single day goes by when police from various police stations in Bihar and the country do not raid here. Apart from this, the police also keep recovering the looted goods from here.
