The culprits have been arrested. To prevent such irregularities in future, the central government has issued an ordinance. It provides for strict action against the culprits as well as heavy financial penalties.
The idea of handing over the responsibility of medical course entrance examination to the states as before also came up. The central government will investigate and take a decision in this regard. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said in the Assembly today that the state government is committed to ensuring that the students who study day and night and give the exam honestly do not suffer any kind of loss and the suggestions given by the opposition parties will have a positive effect. Consideration was given in this regard.
Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar, former Speaker Nana Patole and other members had raised the issue of irregularities in the NEET exam in the Assembly through an adjournment motion. However, even after the adjournment was rejected by the President, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, while giving information in this regard in the House, said that there have been incidents of paper tearing in the NEET exam across the country. The papers have been written by fake students. Large-scale financial malpractice has also been revealed in the exam. Such things should not happen, honest students studying should not be harmed. The central and state governments are making every effort to ensure that the culprits get the harshest punishment. The central government has issued an ordinance providing for strict punishment and heavy financial penalty for the culprits. A proposal to conduct this examination at the state level in future is also being considered. Making the NET exam transparent, corruption-free is the role of lakhs of students as well as opposition parties and the state government.
