People closed the shops before Baravaft procession
Even after two days, there is no sign of calm in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. People of the Hindu community are upset with the stone pelting at the Ganapati pandal here, due to which they did not even witness the twelve-way procession and closed their shops and went to the temple. Meanwhile, twelve processions were taken out through deserted roads amid tight security of the administration.
The case is of Sanganer, a suburb of Bhilwara district, where Ganesha pandals are decorated during Ganeshotsav. It is alleged that people of the Muslim community pelted stones at the Ganapati pandal two days ago. After which the atmosphere in the area was heated. The people of the Hindu and Muslim parties came face to face. The police pacified both sides. But, Hindu party people have decided to protest peacefully for now.
After stone pelting at Ganapati pandal, people of Hindu community have put up black strips outside their houses. They also staged a demonstration on Sunday evening regarding the proceedings in the case. People of the Hindu community also laid siege to the police post demanding action. Despite all the efforts of the police, an agreement could not be reached between the two sides till late night.
The people of the Hindu community decided together that they would not observe the festivals of the people of other communities. After this decision, all the people of the Hindu community closed their shops and went to the Kali temple. Where bhajan kirtan was performed and mass meal was organized. Former Ward Councilor of Sanganer Raju Jangid said that people of the Hindu community have found this method of boycotting Muslim festivals. All the people reached the temple en masse and bhajan-kirtan and feasting was organized there.
