He further said that the greatest example of friendship between the rich and the poor is Narayan Dham, where the friendship of Krishna Sudama was established. The CM said, shall we not remember their places on the occasion of Janmashtami? He also said that if Janmashtami is celebrated in Mathura with pomp, these Congressmen should stop going to Mathura. It is strange not to believe in God.

Congress MLA and Muslim Personal Law Board executive member Arif Masood was furious over CM Mohan Yadav’s Janmashtami celebration statement, saying if Janmashtami is being celebrated in schools, will Eid and Guru Nanak Jayanti be celebrated in the same way? Attacking the BJP, he said that if you give importance to Hindu festivals, you should also celebrate Muslim festivals.
