Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Bihar in 2025

The Rashtriya Janata Dal is most tense about Prashant Kishor’s plan to win in Bihar. Big gambler Prashant on Wednesday announced to give 75 tickets to Muslims under the sharing formula in Bihar. PK has made this announcement at a time when a letter from RJD state president Jagdanand Singh is going viral in political circles.

Jagdanand wrote this letter to his party leaders, in which he asked the party leaders to stay away from PK. After Jagdanand Singh’s viral letter and announcement of PK against Muslims, the question is whether Prashant Kishor is really becoming a political headache for Tejashwi in Bihar?

What is Prashant Kishor’s plan for winning Bihar?

Prashant Kishor, who has been ruling Bihar for 2 years, is preparing to contest elections in 2025. PK will launch his party on October 2 and then field candidates on all 243 seats on his symbol. PK has prepared 3 plans to win Bihar.

1. Prashant Kishor is mostly focusing on women and youth voters. PK raises these two issues in every program. According to the Election Commission, Bihar has about 4.29 million voters below the age of 40 years. This includes 71 lakh voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years, 1 crore 60 lakh voters in the age group of 20 to 29 years and 1 crore 98 lakh voters in the age group of 30 to 39 years.

2. PK is also preparing a victory plan based on caste and community. His target is the youth of the Dalit and Muslim communities, whom Prashant wants to cultivate in the name of partnership. Muslims make up about 17 percent of Bihar’s population and Dalits about 20 percent. Between these two communities, PK continues. Recently he also organized a program about Muslims in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar.

3. PK is specifically targeting voters who are upset with the NDA but don’t want to vote for the RJD. Prashant is trying to make himself a third axis in Bihar by appealing to these voters.

Why did PK’s plan increase RJD’s tension?

The Rashtriya Janata Dal currently plays the role of the main opposition party in Bihar. Last time, RJD missed out on forming the government in a very close fight. The party hopes to form the government in 2025 and within that Tejashwi Yadav is preparing new equations, but PK’s plan has increased tension in the party.

State president Jagdanand Singh, in view of the tension, wrote a letter to the party leaders, in which he termed PK’s Jansuraj as BJP’s B-team and appealed to workers not to join PK’s campaign. A day after Jagdanand’s letter went viral, PK announced 75 tickets to Muslims.

PK’s announcement is a hurdle in Tejaswi’s path. According to CSDS, 87 percent of Muslims voted in favor of the Grand Alliance in the recent Lok Sabha elections. While the Mahagathbandhan got only 73 percent of the votes of the Yadavs. In Bihar, Yadavs and Muslims are considered the main voters of RJD. The announcement of PK could increase Tejaswi’s woes on two levels.

1. It cannot ignore Muslims in ticket distribution. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, RJD gave tickets to only 2 Muslims while 8 Yadavs were fielded by the party. Bihar has a total of 40 Lok Sabha seats.

2. In the 2020 elections, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM fielded its own candidate and played with the Grand Alliance. If the PK candidates prove to be strong this time, the Grand Alliance’s difficulties may increase in Bihar’s Muslim-majority seats. This will prove more damaging for Tejashwi Yadav.
