Bengal: Governor files defamation case against CM Mamata? Statement from Raj Bhavan

Meanwhile, the information received from sources on Saturday revealed that no defamation case has been registered against CM Mamata Banerjee yet.

According to Bengal Raj Bhavan sources, no such case has been filed against the Chief Minister. No case number yet. Defamation cases have not been filed yet, though initiatives have been taken to file defamation cases. CM Mamata Banerjee’s statement comes weeks after a contract employee accused Governor Anand Bose of “extortion”, prompting the Kolkata Police to launch an investigation.

What did TMC say about defamation?

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen said he would not comment on the matter without discussing it with party leaders. Sen told news agency PTI, ‘I have to talk to the party leadership to find out what actually happened. This is a very sensitive matter.

At the same time, conflict between the ruling party and the Raj Bhavan has escalated over the swearing-in of two Trinamool MLAs. Sayantika Bandyopadhyay, Rayat Hussain Sarkar could not take oath yet. Amidst all this, Kunal Ghosh has warned Governor CV Anand Bose. The Trinamool leader said that if the two MLAs of my party who won the by-election were harassed in this way, they would give an explanation by 3 pm on Monday and the ‘Untold Story of Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi’ would come out on Tuesday.
