Bengal Governor files defamation case against CM Mamata, creates uproar

West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose and state CM Mamata Banerjee are at loggerheads. The ongoing political dispute between the Governor and the CM has now reached the Calcutta High Court. The Governor filed a defamation case against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Calcutta High Court on Friday. A source said that a day ago, CM Mamata Banerjee claimed that women had complained to her that they were afraid to go to the Raj Bhavan because of the activities taking place there.

Governor CV Anand Bose criticized Mamata Banerjee’s remarks earlier in the day. The governor said public representatives are expected not to create “false and defamatory notions”.

He said that the Governor of Bengal has also filed a defamation case against some TMC leaders. During an administrative meeting at the State Secretariat, Nabanna, Mamata Banerjee on Thursday claimed that women had told her that they were afraid to go to the Raj Bhavan because of the recent incidents there.

According to PTI sources, Governor C.V. Anand Bose on Friday moved the Calcutta High Court to file a defamation case against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party leaders for her remarks.

According to information received, Governor Bose has also filed a case against TMC leaders of the Chief Minister’s party. Let us tell you that the politics of the state is already hot over the swearing-in of two MLAs.

Recently, two women MLAs who were elected during the assembly by-election refused to go to Raj Bhavan to take oath. He said that the governor should appoint a representative who would administer oath to those people in the assembly.

A dispute is going on between the TMC and the Governor

Meanwhile, the situation has worsened due to the defamation case filed by the Governor. According to information received, the Governor is upset with the Chief Minister’s remarks on the swearing-in ceremony at the Raj Bhavan. Governor feels “insulted” by TMC leader Kunal Ghosh’s comments.

Kunal Ghosh threatened to expose the “unknown story” of New Delhi’s Taj Hotel. The Governor has already discussed this with the Union Law Minister. On May 2, a contractual woman employee of the Raj Bhavan accused the boss of molestation, after which the Kolkata Police also launched an investigation. There was a huge uproar in the state in this matter.
